Here we are, our third visit to DiceTowerCon in Orlando. A full lineup of planned games for this year including some old favorites: BattleLore and Star Trek Ascendancy. New for this year is Shadows of Brimstone.
Shadows of Brimstone, a game that I had seen during its original Kickstarter campaign, was an immediate interest to me. The theme of the Old West mixed with Horror was compelling. However, I demurred on backing it, the steep full pledge was difficult for me at the time and I was backlogged with miniature painting. I definitely didn’t need to add more to the queue!
When the Cool Stuff Inc store at last years Dice Tower Con had the two base sets, Swamps of Death and City of the Ancients on sale, I couldn’t pass them up!
Here I am now at the 2018 Con and I’ve got the game on the schedule.
The other new principal game I’ve brought is a prototype. Volko Ruhnke’s new design, Nevsky, is ready for some play-test time. I need my hands on a game to get the real feel and building the prototype for the game gives me that opportunity.
The best part of Dice Tower Con however, is not the swag, the games or the deals. It’s friends and the time we can spend together. It’s the new people you meet and the new friendships that are forged. It’s the feeling you are with your “tribe”, that feeling of togetherness and respect. I’m looking forward to another terrific con. Bring it!
